Since the trade war has started, 2 nations are trying to beat each other.
USA & China. It’s clear.
USA with 104% tarrifs China.
China with 84% retaliatory tariffs on USA.
And both don’t seem to back out and intend to “fight till the end.”
Here comes an opportunity out of calamity for India.
What India should do is announce massive manufacturing stimulus. Mega PLI schemes. Zero taxes on manufacturing. Ultra long term leases on land. Special loans. Special subsidies & incentives. And reward those who enter/expand manufacturing, lucratively.
This is our moment.
The world needs someone to manufacture for them. If not China then who? And talking from many variables ranging from Demographics, cheap labor, hardworking & ambitious attitude, size of large economy; India fits well into the picture.
With China gone, EU enjoying their Leisure, Africa with its own poverty & civil issues, Japan happy with tech leaves big opportunities for India.
Now the ball is in the court of all the babus (bureaucrats) & ministers.
If the system supports, India will take a big leap in manufacturing which we are looking forward to since decades.
The way Manmohan Singh & P. V. Narasimha Rao are praised for 1991 liberalisation, the similar way Narendra Modi government would be praised for decades if they make this manufacturing boom happen.
