The world is littered with talent.
It’s the consistency & persistency which is truly what’s rare these days.
Go to a gym & after 3 months, mostly you’ll see new faces. There would be few old guys who still hang in there. Day by day, their bodies are shaping up. Rest all quit because they can’t see any changes. RESULTS TAKE TIME.
Go to stock markets. Daily thousands of new investors join the markets. 10 years down the line, only handful of them make it. Rest all quit because the volatility is intense, can’t put in the required time to manage the portfolio or research, etc, etc. RESULTS TAKE TIME.
In the world of instant gratification, public as a whole seems to be losing patience. You want 30 second short videos, 1 minute chess games, 10 minutes grocery delivery. Hence I see patience & perseverance as a rare trait 10 years down the line.
In the quest of instant gratifications, the society would become more dysfunctional. People will become more anxious, depressed & impulsive. Hence, most will quit the moment something takes time. The brighter side, the competition will be virtually zero.
To achieve something worthwhile, it’s going to take time & efforts. Otherwise the streets would be littered with body builders & billionaires.
Long term efforts bring in extraordinary achievements.
Staying in the game for long period of time, especially when progress is not visible to you but you keep showing up, is a rare trait.
Long term is a rare breed.
