The Stoic Investor

A stoic person would do well in markets any given day than a cranky one.

For a matter of fact, I’ve been both.

In my initial years of investing, I put my hands on everything ranging from intraday trading, BTST, positional trades, leverage trades, etc, etc. Some times I made money, other times otherwise.

Learning the hard way that continuous buying & selling will sure shot (if not me) make my broker rich.

Gradually, I adopted buy & hold approach.

And since then, the portfolio is doing exceptionally well along with me less worried about the markets.

It’s an irony that, less activity (on selling side) brought more money to me.

I virtually don’t care where the market goes.

My portfolio is well diversified. I make sure I’ve decent cash in hand to utilise any dips & convert it into a buying opportunity.

If the market goes up, I make more money on my already invested capital.

If the market goes down, it gives me another opportunity to accumulate stocks in my early stages of investing (looking at another 30 odd years of investing runway ahead, I still feel so despite being into markets since more than a decade).

In nutshell, market volatility seem to have ceased any kind of emotions in me.

Heads I win, Tails I don’t lose…
