Today I watched Subhedar.
It’s a must watch history movie on Warrior Tanhaji, subhedar (commander) of Shivaji’s empire.
There’s a Hindi version of this movie too staring Ajay Devgn. Last year it won a National Award.
Last year I saw the Hindi version, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior on Hotstar & realised what a movie I’ve missed on the big screens.
As soon as I saw the trailer of Subhedar this year, I wanted to see it in theatres & it was a right decision.
I’m unsure, being a Marathi movie (with English subtitles) whether it’s released pan India or not. If it’s shown in theatres around you, it’s a must watch. Take your friends & family too.
This movie comes with tons of learnings from history. You’ll learn a lot on loyalty, swarajya, integrity, courage and many traditional values we Indians seem to be losing in this age of modernisation.
P. S: At time of writing this, the movie is rated 9.2 on imdb. This is definitely going to be on people’s most regret list for not watching it on big screen. Don’t be the one to regret it.
