Do what your conscious says is right for you.
Don’t listen to what society says. Don’t fall for peer pressure.
I’m blessed to listen to myself. I’ve always tried to carry independent thoughts & actions irrespective of what others wanted me to do.
I’ve resisted myself to fall for societal pressures. Over a period of time, after years, I usually realise that my independent decisions are the best decisions.
They asked me to borrow & buy a vehicle. I didn’t. And after years, I’m happy to not to do so.
My friends kept insisting me to buy an iPhone, “(because you are now a known personality in stock market, you need to show off)” I never felt the urge of buying an iPhone & I’m satisfied with my android.
Many asked me to do a 9-5 job, after all security is a big deal in India. I got my professional degree, which could have easily fetched 7 figure salary. Though I never went for a job interview. I felt doing my own thing was best for me. And here I am. I’m having one of the most fulfilling experience of my life whereas most of my age peers are frustrated, hopeless & drained out. (They fear the layoffs in a place which offers maximum security. Unfortunate, irony).
Time after time, I’ve seen, doing what’s best for me is usually the best thing.
Following the herd is dumb. It’s the worst you can do & kill yourself spiritually.
I’ve no obligations, whatsoever, to any banks, financial institutions, relationships, etc. If tomorrow I feel, the things I’m doing aren’t really what I want to do; I’ve all the liberty to walk away & do what I want to do.
That’s the freedom I’ve always worked for. Sadly most people are caged & chained by some or other societal norms. It may be job, loans, relationships, marriage, etc, etc.
To me, my freedom, privacy, independent decisions, intellect & higher conscious is life. That’s what I’ve always fought for & will always strive for.
