One of the hacks I use to make my life more interesting is trying out new things, experiencing new experiences.
See, new experiences results into new memories.
That’s why a life lead heavily in monotonous work (equity investors & analysts like us) seems to fly away quickly.
When you’re out there doing something new, experiencing something new on a frequent basis, you’re building new memories.
In future, when you look back, you’ll only remember the memories.
I’m a big believer & follower of a routine however when you’re in a routine, days & months pass before you even realise. Hence, I keep trying something or other to keep the spice up.
How to try new things/experiences?
1. Learn a new skill. It can be riding, martial arts, writing, painting (Fun fact: I painted our kitchen wall myself while we were renovating home just to have a feel of being a day labourer for a day), etc, etc. Learn something new. Anything. Whether related or unrelated to your work.
2. Travel. When you travel, you explore new places, get experience to different people, hotels, food, culture & terrain.
3. Try new activities ranging from adventure sports to a soothing spa session.
These simple yet little things go a long way in making life memorable.
It’s in our hands to make our lives better by living it fully.
