Those who have balls to put actual money on line, make it big in stock market.
And as per evolutionary biologically, few people are capable to put their hard earned resources on the table to trade off uncertainty.
See, as hunter gatherers, food wasn’t abundantly at our disposal like it’s these days in our fridges & storages.
You had to work every single day to gather food. If you don’t, you starve, get weak and a weak person can’t survive and die.
Survival of the fittest.
So to avoid this sad state, whenever food (resource) was gathered it was consumed scarcely.
In short, we humans, evolved around scarcity of resources.
It’s only past 2-3 centuries and the industrial revolution that almost every other resources are abundantly available to us.
Money (modern resource) is no different than ancient resource: food.
Hence, it’s biologically wired in our brain to consume/use our resources with utmost care.
And hence, we spend ‘money’ wisely. Because our survival depends on it in modern world.
Coming back to investing, a investor finds it difficult to load up quantities in quality businesses knowing that a particular stock is bound to make them money.
Don’t worry, yours truly too went thru that phase in initial years.
Though a personal advise here would be to get over with that reluctance ASAP and move upwards in your learning curve.
Once you understand that going big will also lead to disproportionate bigger returns, you will start to put bigger chunk on the table. With comfort.
And once you comfortably start doing that, you make big money.
Just like progressive overload in working out, you’ve to progressively increase your bet size.
That’s where maximum gains come from.
To growth!
