When it comes to India & when Hindus are proud of being the oldest religion in the world and call India as the land of Hindu, they are looked down upon. I think that’s colonial mindset.
Britishers never wanted Indians to be proud of their cultural heritage, so that they can rule easily.
This damaging mindset also came thru a political party which tried to divide the nation just to win the minorities vote bank. No doubt, a failed political strategy.
On top of it, the liberals to sound cool mixed psudeo secularism and portrayed any Pro-Hindu as anti-secular.

USA is known as the land of Christianity.
Israel is known as the land of Jewish.
Saudi is known as the land of Muslims.
Similarly, India is the land of Hindus.
To sum up, if you go to USA and claim it as a land of Jews, you’ll most likely be mocked.
If you go to Israel and claim it to be land of Muslims, you’ll most likely be sidelined.
If you go to Saudi and claim it to be the land of Jews, you’ll most likely be killed.
You see, you can’t go to someone’s motherland and claim it to be yours. Some sects tried to do so in India and failed miserably.
