Wealth is hidden assets. Stocks in demat, bank balance, mutual funds investments, etc.
Rich is visible assets. Your expensive watch, iPhone, jewellery, etc.
Loan is fake assets. Buying an iPhone on EMI. Luxury car on loans.
The former is actually owning & enjoying the wealth.
The later two are almost always on a roll. Broke are the people who buy depreciating assets on EMIs.
Being actually wealthy & showing off are 2 different things.
Being wealthy, you feel good for your self.
Being broke (fake rich), you’re trying to make the society feel good.
Guess what? The society always tries hard to make you feel good by buying expensive things on loans. It’s an absolute zero sum game.
Ultimately, society doesn’t really care about you as much as you think about yourself. Everybody is busy on themselves.
The art of living a good life is simple. Accumulate assets. Discard liabilities. Make people less envious.
