I’ve often observed that whenever one’s expectations are high, the happiness quotient goes down.
Somebody right said, “higher the expectations, lower the happiness.”
“Lower the expectations, higher the happiness.”
Personally, I’ve seen happy outcomes when there are none expectations.
The quickest way to spoil one’s experiences is to expect & anticipate too much.
Investors with low returns expectations, say 7%, are much happier when they make 10% returns compared to the ones who expected 15% returns.
Word of caution: Expecting less has nothing to do with dreaming & thinking big. Most people presume, low expectations means you dream less & accept mediocre life. No. That’s not the case. You dream big, work hard, take actions & expect less. That’s the better route towards happiness.
