When was the last time you went thru entire day without touching your phone for a single minute? I bet, majority will have a hard time recalling.
Smartphone use have become an obsession for many.
Everywhere you see in public places, restaurants, malls, airports, etc. people are idiotically engrossed with their phones. On top of it, most are watching the useless reels & tiktok videos (More on this modern cancer later).
Excessive use have hampered productivity for many, including yours truly. People hardly realise the toll their smartphone is taking over them.
You’re one notification away from ruining your concentration.
To gain a control over yourself, awareness, concentration & productivity, it’s better to go on regular digital detox.
I went over one for 10 days while practicing Vipassana earlier this month.
For a starter, I’m not insisting that you too go for such intense detoxification. You can start with 8 hours no phone rules & gradually increase the time to 24 hours over a period of month. Then have an entire day assigned every week where you’ll not touch your phone.
Or you can go cold turkey & switch off your phone for entire day & gradually increasing this time. Totally, depends on your personality. Though you must do these for your own wellbeing.
That’s how you cure this disease of smart phone use.
I assure you that your will power, confidence, concentration, productivity, depth & creative thinking will do wonders once you start practicing digital detox.
There’s an actual world outside smartphones. Meet friends & family, go to restaurants, go on a walk, read books, write your thoughts, plan, talk to your immediate family members & perform as many outdoor activities.
You have to help yourself before the world realises what a mess smartphones have become & digital detox becomes socially acceptable.
